Lavrov: Aggression towards Iran originates from the US ambition to dominate energy markets

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said  in an interview with RT Arabic that the core reason behind the aggression against Iran is the United States' ambition to dominate the global oil and energy markets. Lavrov highlighted that the conflict is fundamentally driven by control over these critical resources. He recalled that at one point, the US proposed sharing control of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz with Iran on a 50-50 basis. This proposal, he explained, was again centered on oil and the broader energy markets worldwide. However, Lavrov pointed out that such moves create significant disruptions and cause considerable losses, not only for Iran but also for Arab countries in the region. He stressed that Russia is fully aware of the negative consequences these actions impose on regional stability and economic interests.
