In response to Ukrainian attacks, the Russian Armed Forces have ramped up strikes on Ukrainian military targets, including logistics hubs, ammunition depots, and defense industry facilities. On July 16, Russia launched a particularly intense overnight assault on Kyiv using ballistic missiles.
Local media reported that explosions rocked the Ukrainian capital shortly before 1 a.m. local time. Ukraine's Air Force confirmed that at least eight ballistic missiles were heading toward Kyiv. The extent of damages has not yet fully reported
