Iran Reports Transit of 26 Commercial Vessels Through Strait of Hormuz
Over the last 24 hours, twenty-six commercial ships, including oil tankers, container vessels, and other merchant ships, passed through the Strait of Hormuz under the coordination and protection of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Naval Forces, according to an IRGC statement.
The statement highlighted, “In the past day, 26 vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Naval Forces overseeing their coordination and security.”
On February 28, the United States and Israel initiated a war against Iran, targeting major Iranian cities such as Tehran. In response, the IRGC declared a large-scale retaliatory operation against Israel. Additionally, US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia were struck. Following these events, Iranian officials resolved to close the Strait of Hormuz to vessels linked to the US, Israel, and nations that supported the aggression against the Islamic Republic.
