Iran resumes gas production at three South Pars platforms following Israeli attacks — PressTV

Iran has successfully resumed gas production at three offshore platforms in the South Pars gas field following a temporary suspension caused by Israeli strikes, reported PressTV. These attacks disrupted processing operations at onshore facilities, leading to a halt in output from the offshore installations.

Touraj Dehghani, CEO of the state-run Pars Oil and Gas Company, clarified on Sunday that the offshore platforms themselves remained undamaged during the Israeli attacks. The suspension of production was primarily due to damage inflicted on several gas-processing facilities located along the coast of Bushehr Province. This damage hindered the ability to process and handle the gas extracted from the offshore platforms.

Dehghani further explained that through a combination of technical and operational interventions in the downstream sector, along with the strategic utilization of spare capacity at other operational refineries, the company was able to overcome these challenges. These measures have now allowed the resumption of gas production at three key offshore platforms within the massive South Pars gas field, underscoring the resilience and adaptability of Iran’s energy infrastructure in the face of external disruptions.
