Iran Shuts Down Hormuz Strait Access from Arabian Sea, Navy Commander Confirms

Iran’s Navy Commander Announces Closure of Strait of Hormuz from Arabian Sea Amid Rising Tensions Iranian media reported.
Iran’s Navy Commander, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, declared on Wednesday that the country has closed the strategic Strait of Hormuz from the Arabian Sea as part of its retaliation against adversaries and their allies.
In a stern warning, Rear Admiral Irani stated that any vessel approaching closer to the strait will face immediate operational action without delay. This move comes amid heightened tensions following the United States’ continuation of what Iran describes as an illegal blockade targeting Iranian vessels and ports.

The Islamic Republic has imposed stricter controls on the vital waterway, requiring all vessels to obtain permission from Iranian authorities before passage. Despite these restrictions, the Navy commander confirmed that some ships have successfully departed Iranian ports and reached their destinations.

Looking ahead, Rear Admiral Irani hinted at a forthcoming confrontation, promising that Iran will soon deploy a weapon that its enemies “are deeply afraid of,” signaling a potential escalation in the region’s already volatile security landscape.
