Iran Strikes US Targets Across Region in Retaliation, Warns of Attacking All Regional Infrastructure if Their Own Is Targeted
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced a new wave of retaliatory operations against US military targets in the region, using ballistic missiles and drones to strike facilities in Kuwait and Jordan. This follows overnight US attacks on Iran’s coastline and southern cities.
The strikes that were conducted on Wednesday, were accompanied by a warning from the IRGC that, for now, Iran’s reprisals are limited to US offensive infrastructure in the region—but additional phases will follow.
According to the IRGC, the strikes targeted the early-warning radar of the C-RAM system at Kuwait’s Ali al-Salem Airbase, as well as a US army assembly point. The Iranian army also stated that it had launched a drone strike against US military facilities in Jordan as part of the ninth phase of its retaliatory operation.
In its statement, the army said that they had hit a fixed radar site, communications systems, and fuel depots at the US military facility at Alraq Airbase in Jordan. Separately, Iranian military command spokesperson Zolfaqari warned that every remaining infrastructure in the region would be struck if Iran's infrastructure attacked. The warning comes following US President Donald Trump’s threat to expand American attacks against Iran next week to include civilian infrastructure such as power plants and bridges.
Zolfaqari further stressed that Iran will never allow the United States—as a foreign, extra-regional power—to interfere in the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as the Islamic Republic’s “inviolable red line.”
“Let the ignorant enemy know: for us, the moment of epic action is not a moment for restraint. What is being carried out by Iran’s armed forces is not an equivalent strike; it is a superior strike. The strikes will be more intense, extensive, and destructive than ever before. The fury of a nation that has never surrendered will burn the aggressor,” he said.
