Iranian FM says Trump is committed to muzzling pets in Israel, Vance says US may resume military action against Iran
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has issued a warning to Israel, stating that Tehran will “teach them a lesson” if they fail to follow the lead of their “master,” the United States.
Araghchi’s remarks came in response to comments by Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, who declared that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was “marked for death.”
In a post on X, Araghchi wrote that the U.S. president, under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, had agreed to “muzzle its pets in Tel Aviv.” He added that Iran would deliver a “powerful response” to any threat against its leadership or citizens. “The terms of the Islamabad MoU are crystal clear... If they ignore their master, Iran will school them,” the post read.

The U.S. and Iran held indirect technical talks in Doha on Wednesday, aiming to finalize arrangements for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and to secure a lasting ceasefire. The talks are based on a 14-point interim accord signed last month, which was designed to halt the war—sparked by U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran in February—and reopen the strait while allowing 60 days of negotiations for a permanent peace agreement.
In the same time U.S. Vice President JD Vance has suggested that the United States could resume military action against Iran, depending on Tehran's future behavior.
When asked by reporters whether he could guarantee that Washington would not launch further strikes against Iran, Vance replied: “I can’t commit to anything, because obviously it depends on what the Iranians are ultimately going to do. What I can commit to is the president’s not going to send our military back in unless he has to, unless there’s a clearly defined purpose for it.”
