Oil prices fall amid growing optimism for peace between Iran and the U.S.
Oil prices fell Monday as signals from Washington and Tehran suggested progress toward a memorandum of understanding that could enable peace talks. Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi traveled to Qatar, where Doha has actively worked in recent days to finalize the agreement aimed at ending the US–Israeli conflict involving Iran. In the same time Pakistani Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, who has mediated talks between Iran and the US, briefed Chinese officials on the developments, saying the sides are close to an agreement.
