Russia bans gasoline exports; US launches strikes on Iran; X suspends the Iranian Tasnim News Agency’s account

Russia has extended its complete ban on gasoline exports , according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

"Regarding the ban on gasoline exports, we also made the decision to extend it for both manufacturers and non-manufacturers. Therefore, it will be extended until the end of the year," he told reporters.

Novak reported that fuel production in Russia has been partially reduced due to attacks on oil refineries, although the situation has been stabilized to some extent. Against this backdrop, Russian authorities imposed a ban on gasoline and diesel exports, while imports of petroleum products are expected to begin in July.

As Russia's gasoline export ban is extended, many analysts predict that oil shortages will have a significant impact on the global economy and that oil prices will surge. Meanwhile, the U.S. military has launched airstrikes in Iran in retaliation for an Iranian missile attack targeting an American base in Jordan. These are the first American strikes on Iran since U.S. President Donald Trump paused the bombing campaign week to make room for renewed negotiations.

"The strikes are a powerful to yesterday's attempted Iranian attacks on U.S. forces based in the Middle East," U.S. Central Command said, noting that the attacks began at 8 p.m. (0000 GMT).

In response to the U.S. attacks, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted a U.S. base in Jordan. The IRGC stated that fighters from its Aerospace Force launched several ballistic missiles at the parking ramp maintenance hangar where U.S. F-35 fighter jets were at the Azraq base.

According to the statement, the strike completely destroyed three F-35 aircraft and inflicted heavy damage on three others."

The statement further emphasized that "several enemy officers, along technical and maintenance personnel, were also killed in the attack."

In parallel with the U.S. strikes on Iran, X (formerly Twitter), which is based in the U.S., suspended the account of Iran's Tasnim News Agency. According to Tasnim, X blocked all Persian, English, Arabic, and Hebrew pages of the agency without any explanation.
