Trump announces temporary truce between Israeli and Lebanese leaders

United States President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon have reached an agreement on a 10-day ceasefire. The truce is set to begin at 5 p.m. EST (21:00 GMT) on Thursday, Trump stated on social media .

The U.S. president revealed that he has assigned Vice President J.D. Vance, Senator Marco Rubio, and General Dan Caine, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, to lead efforts toward achieving a “lasting peace.”

Trump, who has previously been involved in initiating multiple conflicts, stated, “It has been my honor to have resolved nine wars around the world, and this will be the 10th war".
