Ukrainian drones hit a Russian oil refinery in Volgograd
On the night of May 29, Ukrainian drones struck the Volgograd oil refinery, according to reports from Ukraine's military.
Ukraine confirmed that a fire broke out at the refinery. The attack damaged key refining units and secondary oil refining units. Following the strike, the plant ceased its production activities.
The refinery is owned by Lukoil, a major Russian energy company. It has an annual crude oil processing capacity of about 15 million tons and functions as a critical fuel supply hub for Russian frontline and rear units.
The Volgograd Refinery provides gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel to the Russian Black Sea Fleet and exports products through transport hubs on the Caspian and Black Seas.
