Reuters has reported that negotiations between the United States and Iran could resume this week in Islamabad, following the collapse of talks over the past weekend. The breakdown in discussions prompted Washington to impose a blockade on Iranian ports, escalating tensions in the region.

Nevertheless at least two ships sailed from Iranian ports through the Strait of Hormuz despite a US military blockade threat, maritime tracking data shows.
